RPGFan Gets a New Server

As a result of the support of both those who have donated to RPGFan, and the multitude of daily visitors who have made the site become increasingly popular, we have obtained new server space and will be transferring our domain over shortly.

What does this mean for you? A generally faster site, quite possibly more media in the future, and a guarantee that the bandwidth-police won't come around and shut down your favorite website. In the short term, however, you may experience some oddities due to the server transfer process.

First off, not all of the ISP DNS servers will see the domain change at the same time--so if you see some disparity between two "different versions" of the site, it's probably because of that. This process may take a few days to complete, so please be patient. Secondly, as with any move of a site this large, there are bound to be a few broken links and non-functioning sections of the new site until we work all the kinks out. Rest assured, if you run across something, we're working day and night to reinstall the board (which hopefully won't have to be wiped,) update links for the new server, and make sure everything is back in working order. Also, it's possible that there will be a lull in our updates while we go through the entire process. Don't worry, we'll be back in full force as soon as we can!

We'd like to say a big "Thank You" to all of our readers. The fact that we're in the position of having to move to a bigger, better server in order to keep up with the demand is a testament to your continuing support.

If you have any issues during the move process, fell free to contact either Rudo or myself (please don't use our RPGFan e-mail addresses, as they may be affected by any hitches in the domain transfer) with your questions.
