Sakura Taisen To See US Release?

In a recent interview with Weekly Famitsu, Sega's COO Tetsuya Kayama commented on the possibility of bringing the famous series of dating simulation - strategy hybrids to the two western markets. However, according to Kayama, nothing is decided in that direction, and if Sega opts to bring the Sakura Taisen series to America and Europe, a first game will only be released next year.

What has been known for more than a year already, was the fact that Sony's PlayStation 2 will host future entries in the Sakura Taisen. Yet it is unclear whether Overworks and Red Company will deliver new installments of the series to PS2 users or remake/re-releases of the first four games on the new platform. Red Company has spoken many times, since the first installment was released, about wanting to see Sakura and the other girls be localized for other countries.

Currently there is no firm release date on the PlayStation 2 installments of the Sakura Taisen series.
