Yet another batch of Final Fantasy XI details Here are a few new, interesting details on Final Fantasy XI's battle and job system. The game allows players to switch their job and thereby master new skills, while leaving the main job class of the character untouched. Let's assume you are a warrior on level 10 and now would like your character to steal items. When you change to a thief, the game will half your main job's current level, preventing you from having to start at level 0 like in Final Fantasy Tactics. On the downside. however, you will have no other choice but to go shopping afterwards, since your entire equipment is job specific, and hence useless for your new job. Furthermore, it was revealed that crystals play a major role in the world of Vana Diel. There are eight types of them, each representing one of the eight elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Ice, Thunder, Light and Darkness. The precious gems can be used to obtain new items, armor, weapons, etc. by crafting rare metals, using alchemy, or sewing. Thanks goes to Roninn50 for the tip. |
