In an ironical turn of events, Namco has decided to name their upcoming new Tales game Tales of Destiny 2, as revealed at this week's PlayStation Meeting. Formerly designed by the working title Tales of X, the fourth Tales game should not be mistaken for the Tales of Destiny 2 released in North America, which was known as Tales of Eternia in Japan, and was the third game in the series.
This "2" numbering of the PS2 game is breaking the series' non-number naming system; it may hint at a posible sequel to Tales of Destiny. It is therefore safe to assume Mutsumi Inomata, character designer for the Destiny and Eternia chapters, will be returning this time as well. Tales of Destiny 2 is still listed as a tentative title, so Namco may realize and change it. We will keep you informed as soon as info emerges on the title.
