To celebrate the release of Victor Interactive Software's River Fantasia - Mariel to Yousei Monogatari (The Tale of Mariel and the Fairies), RPGFan brings you some info about this comparatively unknown RPG.
Described on the official website as a heart-warming RPG, it features a girl named Mariel as the protagonist. The human Mariel was raised by the elvish family of Fiona, after her dad disappeared right after her birth. Mariel serves as a kind of mediator between fairies and humans, in a world where both races co-exist.
She will be joined by Fiona, whose parents raised Mariel, Rebecca, Heizel (Mariel's best friend) and Kathy. Apart from those characters, the game's cast features Alfred, a black cat that pursues Mariel because her father owed him money and never paid it back.
River Fantasia - Mariel to Yousei Monogatari for PlayStation 2 should be released in Japan next month. No announcement has been made so far, concerning a possible US release. You can check the link below for the official game art.
