Dragon Quest Monsters Headed To The PlayStation

As the next step in their PS ports of Dragon Quest titles, Enix should be releasing their GBC Dragon Quest Monsters series on the PlayStation. Just like the recently announced Devil Children PS port, this PlayStation version will include all three Dragon Quest Monsters games: Terry's Wonderland (known as just Dragon Warrior Monsters in the US), along with DQMII Martha's Mysterious Keys - Iru's Adventure and Ruka's Journey (respectively Tara's Adventure and Cobi's Journey stateside). The port, entitled Dragon Quest Monsters 1-2: Hoshi furi no Yuusha to Makiba no Nakamatachi (which translates to "The Heroes fallen from the stars and their meadow companions") should be out this spring in Japan. Needless to say, the graphics and music will be enhanced to suit the PlayStation's capabilities.

With the success of the re-release of DQIV, which sold over one million copies in Japan, and the high popularity of the Dragon Quest Monsters sub-series, Enix is bound to please a lot of gamers with this port. The PlayStation version will have some interaction with i-Appli compatible cell phones. Monsters born in the PS game can be transfered to i-Appli cell phones where they can grow, or fight with other players' monsters using the phone connection.
