Wondering why Xenosaga is coming out next month in Japan, yet there's no word on when the sure-to-be-magnificent soundtrack will be available? Wonder no more. The Xenosaga Episode I Original Soundtrack (catalog number SSCX-10062) will be released on March 6, for 3059 yen ($23.29 USD). Composed by Yasunori Mitsuda of Chrono Trigger and Xenogears fame, and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, this is something you won't want to miss. If you like game music that is.
On a related note, don't forget that the Xenosaga single CD is set for release a month earlier, on February 6.
"So," you think to yourself, "Most of the other Final Fantasy games have Piano Collection CDs, when will we see one for Final Fantasy X?" Well, the answer is February 20. Final Fantasy X Piano Collection(s) will feature 15 tracks from the game's total tracklist of 91 songs, performed by pianist Aki Kuroda. Unfortunately, as of now, which songs exactly were chosen, are unknown. The disc will retail for 2854 yen, or $21.73 USD. The catalog number is SSCX-10064.
Finally, for fans of the quirky and unique Ico, a CD by the name of ICO - Kiri no naka no senritsu (I have no idea what the heck this means, but I know the catalog number is SVWC-7117!) will be released on February 20. However, due to the low price of 1470 yen, or $11.19 USD, this is likely not the full soundtrack, but possibly a re-arranged version, or condensed version. Either way, it's cheap, so buy it! (The composer is Michiru Oshima by the way)
