Square has started the beta testing phase of its online-only RPG Final Fantasy XI. Playable only via Square's PlayOnline service, the eleventh installment of the world's most successful RPG franchise is set to be released in Japan sometime in April 2002.
To celebrate the launch of the beta version, Square has re-designed the only recently opened official Final Fantasy XI website.
