As previously reported, Square Electronic Arts LLC has confirmed that Final Fantasy X will indeed be available on December 26th in limited quantities.
Square EA President Jun Iwasaki said, "We are very excited to roll out Final Fantasy X before the end of the year," adding, "All efforts were put into bringing the title out earlier than expected. We hope this long-awaited title will be played by many gamers over the holiday season. As with Final Fantasy VII for the original PlayStation, as the first Final Fantasy game released for the PlayStation 2, we hope that this title will set new standards in the role-playing game genre."
For those who are not willing to wait until December 26th, Square EA has announced a Consumer Demo Day at the Metreon's PlayStation store in San Francisco on December 15th. Players will not only get the chance to play the game, but also win several prizes.
Final Fantasy X managed to sell almost 2.4 million copies in Japan since its July 19th release, making it by far the best selling PS2 game so far.
