Abarenbou Princess Nears Release Probably one of the most mistranslated game titles of the past six months has been Abarenbou Princess. Various sites have translated it as Princess Abarenbow, The Princess Abarenbow, etc. The name of the Princess isn't even Abarenbou...the word is an adjective, meaning impetuous or hot-headed, which aptly describes the protagonist of the game. And here ends my mini-rant. Abarenbou Princess follows the adventures of Rouge, who is the princess of the Silver Bell Kingdom. Rouge's main protector is a blue dragon that inhabits her right arm; she is also part of team of three incorporating herself and her two friends Sion and Ash. The team's mission is to bring justice to wrong doing. The game will employ a partially real time battle system, where characters and enemies can attack each other at once, and feature two other battle systems. For the double kill system, if yourself and an opponent use a skill that is the same element, the attack will be null. However, if a skill has an advantage over an opponent, it will be that much more powerful. You'll also be able to converse with your teammates before battle, either effectively raising their skills or weakening them. Abarenbou Princess, which is being published by Kadokawa Shoten, will release in Japan for the PlayStation 2 on November 29th for 6,800 yen ($56.03 USD). Below you should find links leading to a multitude of screenshots and artwork on the site; thanks to Legion for pulling these together for me. And remember, it's Abarenbou Princess! |
