Arcturus Joins Ragnarok Gravity, the Korean company responsible for the MMORPG with the growing cult following, Ragnarok Online, is already hard at work on converting another one of their titles into English. Arcturus: The Curse and Loss of Divinity, a co-developed title between Gravity and Sonnori, is currently at an alpha stage as well. The story takes place on the Valencia Continent; the land looks peaceful enough, but belies the true unrest of the people. Two characters, Siege and Maria, run away and decide to make their own future. There will be two different story modes in the game; one will focus on the political side, while the other will lean to the religious. The game will have 2D characters on 3D backgrounds and will make sure of such effects as alpha-blending, a camera that follows you, and Bump-mapping. There will also be a diary mode from which you can access information about your travels at any time. The soundtrack is filled with 70 BGM, ranging from classical sounding tunes to those that are heavy-metal inspired. The alpha demo for Arcturus is available from Wizard's English site under Sources. There is no release date yet for the English version of Arcturus, as well as no North American publisher. You can check out screenshots, artwork, and wallpaper from Arcturus under Referring Links. And look for a preview of Arcturus: The Curse and Loss of Divinity soon. |
