In an effort to speed early adoption of their PlayOnline service, Squaresoft has commissioned special-edition PlayOnline VISA and MasterCard credit cards. These cards will act just like a normal credit card; however the standard annual fee for the cards will be waived if the cardholder subscribes to the PlayOnline service.
In addition, cardholder will receive special information and goods regarding the PlayOnline service and Final Fantasy (no specifics are given) as well as a Final Fantasy T-shirt and 6000 yen (US $50) gift card.
PlayOnline Beta testing will begin in September, and will be the major platform for the launch of the upcoming Final Fantasy XI.
