Final Fantasy X Ships, Includes FFXI Trailer

As many of you know, Square's newest sure-to-be blockbuster title, Final Fantasy X was released yesterday (or today, depending on where you are in the world) in Japan. While initial sales figures haven't been released yet, the game did get 1.5 million pre-orders, and Square shipped 2 million copies of the game thus far.

Along with the single DVD game, FFX comes with a second DVD titled 'The Other Side of Final Fantasy', which includes interviews, storyboards, and probably most important to gamers, trailers. The disc has trailers for Blue Wing Blitz, Kingdom Hearts, the US trailer for Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, and the first real footage of Final Fantasy XI.

The eleventh game in the Final Fantasy series will likely be the biggest departure from the norm yet, as it allows online play (More specifically, its online-only.) Graphically, FFXI looks far less impressive than FFX, which is to be expected, considering the online aspect. Check out the screens below for what to expect from the game, and also Ruliweb for a large (44 MB) video, or Gamespot for a smaller one.

It's not known if Square will release new information or media on Final Fantasy XI soon, or hold off til the Tokyo Game Show in the fall. Whatever the case, we'll bring you the latest on it, and FFX as we hear it.

Screens from the trailer at Ruliweb.
