Final Fantasy Chronicles Troubles

Since the release of Final Fantasy Chronicles late last week (or early this week, depending on where you live), some people have had trouble getting the game to start up on their PSOne systems.

We tested both Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV today and got the same results. About one time in 8 or 9 resets, they would load correctly. The rest of the time, the system would either freeze on the black PSX logo screen, or display the 'insert a PlayStation game disc' screen.

Interestingly enough, both games work just fine on the PS2, and apparently on the original PSX too (If we had a properly functioning PSX between us we'd check, but alas).

There's no known solution as of yet, but we'll keep you updated if we hear of or discover one. For now all we can suggest is to contact Square EA tech support at (310) 846-0345. Their hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday. This info is all in the manual for FFC, but for those that don't feel like looking...there ya go.

Finally, if you feel like searching for an e-mail address for support on Square's site, be my guest. I can't find a darn thing on that site anymore.
