RPGFan E3 2001 Editor Impressions Despite the fact a good deal of people considered this year's E3 to be one of the less spectacular ones, there was still enough to impress and dazzle people, RPGFan staff included. While overall, many things felt smaller or cheaper than 2000's show, there was still enough of interest. Most of our staff agreed on a few things, namely the GameCube from Nintendo looked very good, and Microsoft's Xbox... well, didn't. While there isn't a whole lot RPG-wise coming out soon, some good-looking and interesting titles were on display, from the oft-rumored US translation of Namco's Tales of Eternia (being called Tales of Destiny 2 on these shores), Square's love-it-or-hate-it Kingdom Hearts, Atlus' Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth, to Megaman's first foray into RPGs with Megaman Battle Network on Game Boy Advance. We know you're all dying to know what games Rudo can't wait to get his hands on, just how big that Xbox is, or about Sumire's bathroom escapades. Check out our E3 2001 Impressions here, and keep a lookout for more (albeit slightly late) E3 coverage soon, including an interview with Enix, the company behind the Dragon Warrior series. |
