GBA Tengai Makyou Title In The Works After long-time rumors about a possible future for the series on the PlayStation, Red Company and Hudson's popular Tengai Makyou series will apparently have its next installment on the Game Boy Advance, according to Nintendo of America's GBA schedule. The yet to be announced in Japan new installment's title is Tengai Makyou: Oriental Blue. Tengai Makyou, also known as Far East of Eden, first appeared on NEC's PC-Engine/Duo-R (Turbo Duo in America) systems, and later made appearances on the Super Famicom and Saturn. The series has yielded a number of sequels and spin-offs, including a Bomberman game and a fighting game, and has encountered great popularity in Japan, even though the name isn't familiar to most western RPG fans' minds. The series has been neglected after Sakura Taisen became Red Company's new flagship series. Although more information on the title has yet to emerge, it can be speculated that this new installment will use the series' traditional setting of a kitsch medieval Japan, "as a Westerner would see it", with your typical Japanese folk tale characters. Tengai Makyou: Oriental Blue would also be the first game in the series to reach North America, thanks to Nintendo of America's GBA titles frenzy. We'll keep you informed as soon as new info emerges on the game.
