Wednesday Morning News On Monday, a press conference was held in Tokyo to announce a stock purchasing agreement between Enix, Namco, and Square. At the event were executives from all three companies including Enix president Yasuhiro Fukushima, Square president Hisashi Suzuki, and Namco president Masaya Nakamura. Currently, all three executives own shares in each other's companies. In an effort to strengthen their relationship, Namco, Enix, and Square plan to equally trade 4-5% of their outstanding shares with each other in the future. It's currently unknown how this "strengthening of relationships" is going to effect further plans between the companies, but who knows, maybe all three companies will develop an RPG together. And now onto the news you all really care about. Get those Dreamcasts ready, Sega of America has confirmed that Phantasy Star Online Version 2 will be released in North America, though no exact release date was given. In order to prepare for the game's release in the US and Japan the Phantasy Star Online servers will be temporarily unavailable beginning April 24th. The upgrade is to be finished on Friday April 27, whereupon the servers will become available for play once again. Sega of America stated that further details regarding the North American release of Phantasy Star Online Version 2 are to be released shortly. Phantasy Star Online Version 2 is set to be released in Japan on May 31st.
