Namco has announced a 4th title in the Tales series, Tales of X, which is now under development. Namco has stated that it will be released on a next-generation console, so more than likely, this title will hit the PlayStation 2.

Another Namco game entitled Volfoss, a simulation RPG, is set to be released on February 22, retailing for 5800 yen. It is supposed to feature over 200 missions and 100 stages, with a dynamic story that changes based on the path you choose at the end of each stage.

Square officially released the name of the theme song for Final Fantasy X. It is entitled "Suteki da ne" which translates to "It Is Wonderful", and will be performed Rikki, a country music singer in Japan.

Sega has plans to bring the Sakura Taisen series to the PlayStation 2 The release date as of yet is unknown.

It certainly is going to be an even more interesting year for RPGers than the last: voice acting in Final Fantasy, Sakura Taisen on the PS2, and Lord knows what else ahead.
