Wednesday NewsBrownie Brown has announced that Magical Vacation, the company's upcoming Game Boy Advance RPG, will be released in North America. While no North American release date for the title has been set, Magical Vacation will be released in Japan this spring.Square of Japan yesterday announced plans for a launch party to celebrate the release of Final Fantasy IX Piano Collections. A special "CD Debut" is planned for January 28. Louis Leernik, the Dutch pianist who recorded all the piano arrangements, will treat visitors to Yamaha's Ginza branch in Tokyo to a live performance of songs directly off the CD. Copies of the CD and its sheet music will be on sale at the event. Final Fantasy IX Piano Collections will include fourteen piano renditions, arranged by Shiro Hamaguchi, of the game's music. Composer Nobuo Uematsu has chosen all the tracks, though there's no word yet on which specific ones were selected. Due out January 24th, Final Fantasy IX Piano Collections will be published by Square's DigiCube division and retail for 2,854 yen ($24 US). Beginning February 22, Sony Computer Entertainment will be giving away 100,000 demo disks of Boku to Maou, its new PlayStation 2 RPG, to those who purchase any PlayStation 2 title at game shops all across Japan. Boku to Maou is scheduled to be released on March 15.
