New Year's Previews

PlayStation 2 owners are itching for an epic role playing game by now. With the PS2's somewhat less-than-spectacular launch RPGs, most gamers have been left wanting something a little more. If you happen to be one of those gamers, look no further than Dark Cloud from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan.

"The basis of Dark Cloud is this: re-create your world. In the small village of Norm, the local festival is in full swing only to be interrupted by a militant force from the east, aided by a demonic presence in the form of a Djinn. When the force arrives, the Djinn is unleashed upon the village of Norm, leaving nothing but rubble in its wake.

So how exactly does one create a world? Easily. Dark Cloud's "Geo-rama" land-creation system is an isometric overhead perspective that allows you to terraform your island and build a new village in the place of your lost home. The land creator opens up a whole new level of gameplay. The possibilities for creating new villages are endless. After adding, churches, houses, shops, streams, lakes, basins, wells, bridges, cliffs, or any other physical feature or structure, you can interact with any of them in real-time when you return to the exploration mode."

Well folks, enjoy the snow. If you happen to be living in a state without any snow, call anyone in Michigan because we have about 20 inches to spare! :)
