New Super Robot Taisen Game Announced!

Super Robot Taisen games come and go every year, and with the series having around 20 titles now, it is no surprise to see Banpresto announce a new SRT game. Super Robot Taisen has the unique concept of a simulation RPG using characters and robots both from older famous or and more recent anime series. Tentatively titled Super Robot Taisen Alpha Gaiden, the PlayStation game is scheduled for a March 2001 release for the rather expensive price of 6,980 yen. The game will feature characters/robots from the following series:

Note the appearance of Turn a Gundam, the latest Gundam series, and Xabungle, considered a classic. The new appearances of Super Robot Taisen Alpha, such as the characters of the Macross (Robotech) series, are coming back in this new installment! Some others series such as Giant Robot, Gunbuster or Evangelion are seemingly missing from this new game, though.
