Princess Maker 4 Info and First Pictures

Princess Maker is one those games you could definitely call quirky. Originally conceived by Gainax, the anime company that later produced Evangelion and Nadia, the game is an educational simulation. You're playing the part of a retired warrior, now living a peaceful life in a parallel-world Tokyo, who gets entrusted with the care of a little girl by a fairy, and will have to educate her from age 8 to 18 and teach her various things that will eventually lead her to choose a job and her way in life in the end.

Designed and illustrated by Takami Akai, Princess Maker has made itself a name in Japanese PC gaming, and has had ports on the SFC, PC-Engine, Saturn and PlayStation. Now, over 2 years after the last Princess Maker installment has been released, the first screen shots of Princess Maker 4 have been unveiled. This new installment takes place in Tokyo, modern time, in opposition with the previous games' fantasy/medieval settings. The game will include new parameters, the usual random events and supposedly at least 40 different endings (Princess Maker 2 itself had over 60). We have three screen shots of the game, courtesy of NTT Publishing's EG:

Princess Maker 4 should be released in Spring 2001 for the Japanese PC. In other Princess Maker related news, the Dreamcast port of Princess Maker 2 and 3, Princess Maker Collection, has been delayed from its initial January 25th release, it's now scheduled for spring as well.
