Grandia: Parallel Trippers

Hudson announced that its Game Boy Color RPG, Grandia: Parallel Trippers, has been completed. Since the production of the game was announced just four months ago, it is quite surprising that the game was completed so quickly.

Grandia: Parallel Trippers, is based on the original Grandia, which was first released on the Saturn and then was released on the PlayStation last year. In Grandia: Parallel Trippers, the new characters (Yuuhi, Mizuki and Shirou) have been sent to a parallel world. Together the characters must explore this parallel world, collecting keys along the way, which will allow them to return to their home world, helped on their way by the characters of the original game. The old turn-based Grandia battle system will be replaced by a new "synthesis card battle" system. Little information is known about how this new battle system will work, except that it will have a card trading system, in which you can trade cards with other players.

Grandia: Parallel Trippers is scheduled to be released on December 22 in Japan, and will ship on a 32MB cartridge. The game will retail for 4500 yen (about $40 USD). It is unknown if there is going to be production of a North American version of this title.
