On Tuesday Interplay confirmed that Baldur's Gate 2 will be released on the PlayStation 2. The release date as of now is unknown. Almost nothing is known about the game's release on the PlayStation 2, and in particular, if Baldur's Gate 2's original subtitle will carry over. Most likely, though, the game will not be a direct port, but instead an original game made to fit on the PlayStation 2. It is unknown if Baldur's Gate 2 will be Internet compatible, or even multi-player, as the PC version allowed online play.

Yesterday Yuji Naka, director of Phantasy Star Online confirmed that Phantasy Star Online demo disks have begun shipping to select players in Japan. Customers who pre-ordered copies of Phantasy Star Online through Sega's online store D-Direct were guaranteed a playable trial version in mid-November. The demo disk, which is to contain an online battle sequence, should reach most of the select few by the 11th. Phantasy Star Online is currently scheduled to release in Japan on December 21, 2000 and in the US on January 16, 2001.

And finally, for all the Grandia II fans, EBWorld.com is giving a free Grandia II t-shirt with every pre-order of the game! So what are you waiting for? GO PRE-ORDER IT!
