Tokyo Game Show Autumn 2000 Media

Held from September 22nd to 24th, this Autumn's Tokyo Game Show has attracted more visitors than the Spring one, with a total of 137,400 visitors (as opposed to the 131,708 of last Spring's). However, the event was not really dominated by the RPG genre this time around, with only 12% of the games presented being RPGs. There was a certain lack of blockbuster titles - no new Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, and the marked absence of certain companies like Sega, who had decided to concentrate on their online events rather than attending, was a definite minus.

Atlus's monster breeding sim Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children was the focal point of the Atlus booth, with the anime series set to start next week in Japan. Atlus was also selling a number of goods from Persona, Eithea, or Growlanser.

Enterbrain, an affiliate of Ascii, was presenting the love sim True Love Story 3 and RPG Tsukuuru 4, better known under the title RPG Maker.

Hudson: Apart from Grandia: Parallel Trippers, Momotarou Densetsu 1=>2 (GB) was also presented. For those not familiar with the title, Momotarou Densetsu is a long-established RPG series based on Japanese folklore, the protagonist Momotarou, the boy born in a peach who fought the evil Oni, being a popular character from such folklore.

While Game Arts had no big title to show, they were attendance to present their newly-opened Game Arts shop. A number of products from Grandia II and other titles were available to buy.
