Soundtrack Section's Tribute to Sakuraba

Motoi Sakuraba: Just a videogame music composer? No, my friends. Sakuraba has done plenty of different things in his music career...However, because our coverage is limited to RPGs, we shall cover just that. Don't be upset, children. Sakuraba still brings us plenty of good tunes!

Today's update features Sakuraba's latest work, the Valkyrie Profile OST. This soundtrack is definitely a high point in this man's career, many people are praising it. One such person is our own Shiguma who has been eager for me to post this review. Click here to read the review!

Sakuraba's most recent work before that would be Star Ocean: The Second Story OST...Which I happened to review. I have always been fond of this soundtrack. The music is quite memorable, and the track titles are quite interesting, lots of anastrophe ("Pure a Stream", for example). To read this review, click here!

I bought another soundtrack very recently, unknowing that it was done by Sakuraba. However, it was and now it is being put in this update. Presenting (one of my favorite soundtracks)...the Tales of Destiny OST! Go read: click here!

I'd also like to say that these are not the first Sakuraba soundtracks to go up. Other soundtracks done by Sakuraba that are reviewed here include:

Shining Force II Symphonic Suite
Shining Force III OST
Tales of Phantasia OST

And, there are plenty of Sakuraba soundtracks out there for you readers to send in reviews for! We would like to get reviews for Star Ocean: The Second Story Arranged, Valkyrie Profile Arranged, Valkyrie Profile Voice Mix, Shining Force Symphonic Suite: Another Story, and the Tales of Destiny Drama Box (the 3 disc set selling at Anime Nation for $100). These would all be highly wanted additions to our soundtrack review section!

Our next update will continue the Squaresoft collection, featuring plenty of soundtracks from the SaGa series, the Vagrant Story OST, and much MUCH more! Until then......

...And PLEASE send in some soundtrack reviews! We are quite interested in some more reader review work! If you're interested as well, send an e-mail to ramza@rpgfan.com!
