A Closer Look at Eithéa

Atlus recently announced Eithéa, a new Playstation RPG scheduled for this winter. To retail for 6,800 yen, this 2-CD game features character designs by Aoi Nanase, an artist better known for her work on the anime/manga Seraphim Call or more recently Angel Dust.

Eithéa is the story of Shou Niimi, an ordinary high school boy whose life is unexpectedly disrupted when a violent earthquake strikes his school. Shou and a few classmates and teachers find themselves transported into the mysterious world of Eithéa.

Of course, Eithéa features one of those oddly-named game concepts, the LAV (Latent Ability Voltage). When a character is happy, he/she gets stronger while if that character gets unhappy, he/she becomes weaker. The LAV meter is influenced by events and battles. Conversations play an important part in the game. The game's characters will sometimes ask you for opinions or advice, and you will get the opportunity to choose an answer or ignore the question -- these features give a certain dating sim touch to the game.
