Atlus and Kadokawa Shoten Join Forces

In an interesting turn of events, Atlus of Japan, makers of the Megami Tensei series, and Kadokawa Shoten, a huge publishing conglomerate in Japan with a hand in game development and publishing, have struck a publishing and investment deal to incorporate both game development and publication. Both should be working on the upcoming Megami Tensei for the Playstation 2, reportedly due out sometime in 2001, in addition to new games for the Playstation 2 and development of interactive and mobile DVD software.

Love Hina has been announced for Japanese release by Sega on September 28th for 5800 yen. The love simulation for the Dreamcast is based on a popular anime series of the same name.

Atlus has announced a new RPG, due for a November release in Japan. Eithea for the Playstation utilizes the art of Aoi Nanase, who is known for his Samurai Shodown illustrations in Gamest. An earthquake strikes a young boy named Sho's school and transports him and his friends into the world of Eithea. Characters will perform different based on their emotions, in a system called Latent Ability Voltage (LAV). Eithea should retail for 6800 yen when it's released this November.
