[E3] Persona 2: Eternal Punishment US Bound!

Atlus just announced a few days ago that they would be releasing another "Mystery RPG" by the end of 2000. Today at E3, Atlus revealed that new RPG to be Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, the yet-unreleased sequel to Persona 2: Innocent Sin. Part of the popular Megami Tensei series, Persona 2 is being developed by Atlus of Japan.

Although hopes were up about a possible double release of both halves of the game, Atlus will only be releasing the latter half, coming out in Japan on June 29th. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment takes place in the same universe as Innocent Sin and has characters in common, including Maya Amano, who gets the position of main character this time around, and Innocent Sin's protagonist Tatsuya Suou.

Today, Atlus of America revealed the U.S. packaging even before the Japanese packaging.

On the other side of the Pacific, Atlus of Japan has just revealed five new secondary Persona 2: Eternal Punishment characters, whose artwork you can see here!

Be sure to also check out the japanese ad, featuring the appealing catch-phrase "The truth is beyond the memories".

Finally, we have 40 new screen shots of the game for you to look at!
