Lufia III GBC News

Greetings all! Bet you didn't expect me to be doing a news update, but I'm a big Lufia fan! So let's get to it!

For a while we've all heard the rumors about the latest installment of Natsume's premier RPG series, Lufia 3. First it was speculated that we'd see it on Playstation, then some new characters and sketches were leaked. After that, the plan was changed, with Natsume announcing that the third game would, instead, be on Nintendo's Gameboy Color system. It was given the name Lufia: Ruins Chaser, and was going to be a sort of gaiden, or sidestory, to the main Lufia series.

Now we learn that the game has undergone some more changes. It is now being called Lufia: The Beginning of a Legend but is still planned for a release on Gameboy Color. In addition, the game's title MAY mean that the story will revolve around the main character of Lufia II, Maxim, though at a younger age. In other words, this is a prequel to a prequel. Where's Doc Brown when you need him?

Now all these changes may get you to fretting about the game's release date. Not to fear, friends, for the developer of the game, Never-Land, is still working on it and Natsume espouses a 3rd Quarter 2000 release in the states! Good news for all us Lufia fanatics out there (with a Gameboy Color, at least!)

Natsume will probably show off some of the game at E3 this May, so if they do, we'll be sure to get you the scoop!

Thanks to GIA for this late-breaking news, and I'll see you back in the reviews!
