Alundra 2 Consumer Promotions

Following is a Press Release from Activision about special promotions for consumers who purchase the game Alundra 2.

Santa Monica, CA – March 9, 2000 –- Activision, Inc. will support the launch of Alundra 2 for the PlayStation® game console with two unique consumer promotions. The highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed PlayStation game console title Alundra, Alundra 2 is expected to hit shelves later this month and has been rated “T” (Teen) by the ESRB.

Beginning on March 21, gamers who purchase Alundra 2 from any Electronic Boutiques, Babbages or Funcoland in the United States and Canada will receive a free Alundra 2 BradyGAMES mini-guide while supplies last. Included in the guide will be a mail-in offer for a free limited edition Alundra 2 poster.

Additionally, Activision will be running an online contest giving fans of the game the opportunity to design their own Alundra 2 website, by downloading an asset pack file containing screenshots and artwork. On May 5, 2000, a team of judges will select the winning site, which will be linked to the front page of the Activision’s official Alundra 2 website. Beginning March 9, 2000, gamers can visit www.activision.com/games/alundra2 to download the pack. Website entries will be accepted until April 29, 2000.

The grand prize winner of the Alundra 2 website contest will receive a prize package containing a copy of the game autographed by the production team, a strategy guide from BradyGAMES, a poster and a limited edition soundtrack. Two runners-up will receive a copy of the game and a strategy guide from BradyGAMES.

Alundra 2 is an action/role-playing game in which players assume the role of Flint, a young renegade who must embark on a fantastical journey to save the kingdom of Varuna from the evil Baron and his reign of terror. Along the way, gamers attempt to solve hundreds of diabolical puzzles, fight monsters and mega-bosses and unlock more than 10 mini-games integrated into the game’s overall storyline.

Utilizing a new real-time, fully 3D polygonal engine, Alundra 2 immerses players in more than 40 hours of gameplay where they can climb, jump, swim and slide through a variety of environments, including volcanoes, sunken ships and underground caverns. Developed by Matrix and produced by Contrail, a satellite company of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., Alundra 2 is slated for release in spring 2000.
