Harvest Moon PSX

During a recent party in Burlingame, CA, Yasuhiro Maekawa revealed that developer Pack-in-Soft would start working on a port of Harvest Moon for a May 2000 release in North America.

Harvest Moon is a radical departure from the majority of RPGs. There is no great focus on monster slaying, or saving the world from some type of horrible evil. It's just the story of one guy trying to make ends meet by keeping his farm in business.

To do this you have to partake in raising chickens, cattle, and of course growing food the natural way. No not out of a can or from the microwave, but the ground itself. These will be your sources of income and essentially are the most important things to keep track of in Harvest Moon. At least at first.

Harvest Moon has an insanely large number of smaller plots to break the monotony of the day to day tasks. Most of these come in the form of the dozens of people you can interact with during the game. Some of these people will lead you into different storyline tangents, while others may simply give you farming tips.

So if you are in the mood for something a little different, Harvest Moon may very well be up your alley. May should be an intriguing month for owners of the Playstation indeed.
