Septerra Core and Ys Eternal Reviews

Hello all you eager review beavers! SP back again (gee, I must be popular ;). Anyway, we have a couple of reader reviews of PC games coming up, and afterwards, there are a few matters I need to clear up, so make sure to read the whole update.

Our first review is from reader Dedwinbro, and it's of Monolith's console-like PC RPG, Septerra Core. Personally, I'm getting it for Christmas since I've been a good firebird this year! Check out the review here.

We also have reader Ghaleon's review of Falcom's Ys remake, Ys Eternal which you can read here.

Now, let me get to the houskeeping part. It's important that everyone read this:

In my previous update, I mentioned that the review scale has a 50% as a C, not an F. After I made that statement, it was brought to my attention that most of the reviews, both reader and editor written, did not follow that scale, and it would cause too much confusion to change it now. So the de facto review scale will have a 50-59% being an F, or poor rating, 60-69% is a D, or below average, 70-79% is a C, average, 80-89% is a B, or above average, and 90-100% is an A, excellent. The rationale is that a game has to meet certain requirements before it can even be considered as possibly viable (hence anything below 50% is totally unacceptable in a game.) In any case, I am sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused.

Next, a bit of business that I know is correct: handles. If you submit a review, please include a handle (name) which will accompany your review and which is different from any other reviewers' handle. It doesn't have to be your real name, but it can be if you want.

As a final and important note, I will be getting rid of my cecil2222 aol mail address soon, so please send all reviews from now on to senseiphoenix@rpgfan.com The submissions page will soon be changed to reflect that.

Well, that's it for now review fans. Christmas is coming soon, so all you secret santas out there send in some review presents for me! Happy Hollidays!
