New Eternal Ring Info!

Eternal Ring was the first game From Software announced for a Playstation 2 release. Between Eternal Ring and Ever Grace, chances are From Software will have the early lead in the RPG market for the Playstation 2.

Strangely up until now, there has been nearly no concrete information on Eternal Ring, but at long last the gameplay finally comes to light a bit. And to what may be a surprise to a few, Eternal Ring plays mysteriously like a title from the King's Field series.

Players mainly have to control their characters via a first person perspective. This means that like in King's Field, you will be forced to chase down your foes in order to kill them. Unless of course they make the job easier by approaching you first.

This model of play also works in air to aid encounters as well. As the title implies, there are rings to be found in the game. Five of them based on magic, and another set of five on items. Putting funky fashion statements aside, these rings are what give the hero his magical abilities. They can also be enhanced throughout the course of the game, giving them new powers and altered appearances.

Of course there will be some graphical eye candy in Eternal Ring too, such as day giving way to night, and apparent differences in climate as you travel through the various locales to be found in your adventures.
