Info on Evolution 2 VMS Mini GameEvolution 2, the sequel to the closest thing the Dreamcast has had to a proper RPG until recently, will join the ongoing VMS mini game craze. This game, known as Linear Clock, is sort of a mini "life" simulation for one of Evolution's supporting characters, Linear Cannon. In the VMS Linear will do a variety of things including eating, sleeping and smiling. This mini game has no effect on what happens in the main adventure, takes up all the memory in a VMS, and seems to be a novelty for fans at best. Still, if you have a spare VMS around, it may not hurt to at least give it a try. It is definitely an improvement over the first Evolution's nonexistant VMS support outside of saving. Evolution 2 will feature remodeling houses similar to the cyframe upgrade building of the first game. In these houses, equipment can be altered to increase their uses. There will also be a Lot shop in town where your characters can enjoy trying their hand at several mini games. Some of these games can lead to the discovery of rare items. Lastly, Mag and company will often travel via a railway system, rather than the bi-plane from the first Evolution. The train leads to many places, and at times special character events may unfold there. Evolution 2 is slated for a late December release in Japan. Last minute bonus story: In a recent announcement Atlus revealed that two new Gameboy Color RPGs are in the making. The two games are Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Red Book, and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Black Book. Both titles share the same central storyline and gameplay fundamentals, but have different protagonists, demons, and special events. Like in the Persona series, you can chat with demons, as well as merge them to make volatile combinations. The games have over 200 demons in total, and will keep track of how many have been seen or captured via a data book. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Black Book, and Devil Children Red Book should hit Japan next spring. Bet you guys didn't see this story coming from my headline, eh? Source: The Magic Box |
