Ogre Battle Tribute!

Quest, Enix, and Atlus...all the companies involved in these three strategy RPGs. While none of the games have made a real impact on RPGs in general, they keep popping up from time to time. All of these games have been developed by Quest, but publishers like Enix and Atlus keep finding ways to translate these treasures.

First, there was the SNES version of Ogre Battle released in America by Enix (one of their last releases before they went under in the states). We have screen shots, artwork, and Japanese packaging from this game! Atlus later brought the 32-bit version of this game to the U.S.

Next from the series was Tactics Ogre, which looks like a 16-bit version of Final Fantasy Tactics (which makes me wonder where Square got their ideas ^_^). This Super Famicom game didn't make it to the states until Atlus brought it over on the Playstation. We have SFC screen shots, artwork, and Japanese packaging.

The latest installment of the series, Ogre Battle 64, has been released in Japan and will be released in the U.S. by Atlus according to a recent report. This bodes very well for RPG-deprived owners of the Nintendo 64. No definite release date has been set but we have lots of screen shots, 6 of them are new, artwork, and the import Nintendo 64 packaging.

What I like most about this series is how it keeps appearing, improving, and finding ways to grace us with its presence in North America. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we see more on Dreamcast of Playstation 2!

Until then, this is StahnMahn wishing you an excellent weekend of RPG experiences and lots of sleep :)
