Volition Releases Info On SummonerIn creating a new fantasy rpg for the PC known as Summoner, Volition takes a radical departure from the previous titles they are known for.Summoner puts players in control of a young man named Joseph, who has the uncanny ability to summon demons from their world at will. Joseph will embark on a quest that will take him across two continents to learn more about his strange powers. At the same time he will have to constantly flee an army which wishes to capture him, and use his unique abilities for their own ambitions. During his journey, five other companions will eventually join up and lend their assistance to the quest. To battle with the various monsters in Summoner, players will have to learn 50 spells and master the use of various weapons. Experience and skill learning will be similar to the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games. Summoner will be entirely in 3-D, and play from a third person perspective. Look for this game to be released sometime in the fall of 2000.
