Server move almost completed!Everything on the site has been moved to the new server and the domain name rpgfan.com should now be pointing at this location (if you are reading this, it means you were redirected to the right place). However, we've been hearing of many people still getting the old server when they go to www.rpgfan.com and there are many reasons why this could be happening ranging from the need to refresh your browser, the need for you to clean your Internet Temporary files folder, your ISP not having updated their DNS database, and even some more complicated problems like somebody using a web accellerator software which puts web addresses and corresponding IP addresses in a file called HOSTS in the Windows directory that automatically makes you point to that server despite the fact that it is not the correct one anymore (I had this problem).Anyway, if you are seeing this update, there are still a few things that may not work. First of all, the message boards are currently not working. We'll try to figure out the problem for that in the near future though. Also, the movies, midis and Utilities are not accessible at the moment because we need to change something for them to download correctly on this new server. Be patient and this should be working fine by the end of the week if not earlier. Apart from that, the polls, links, search engine and all other scripts on the site should be working fine. Just make sure to always refresh the pages you load in case it's loading an old version of it from your browser cache. If you don't have a problem with it, you could even clear out your Temporary Internet Files folder to make sure that you're not getting any problems with that but of course, doing this will clear EVERYTHING you have from all the other web pages. Another problem is that the webmaster@rpgfan.com e-mail address is currently not working and hasn't worked since Saturday morning. If you have sent anything to that address since then, please resend it to efarand@total.net in the meantime. We will let you know once this is fixed. Well, thanks for your understanding during this server move and we're sorry for all the problems this may have caused. Regular updates will start again and expect a lot of things because we've been working on a lot of stuff while the site was being transfered and we're itching to update with all that. Also expect an announcement soon regarding an affiliation with a big network because this was basically the reason for this server move (along with the server being faster). |
