HALF-LIFE TAKES HOME PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD Happy Puppy Gives Gamers a Voice and They Make Themselves Heard(NEW YORK, NY)— Happy Puppy, a leading online gaming lifestyle publication since 1995, proudly presented Half-Life with the People’s Choice award for best overall game at the Computer Game Developers Association’s Spotlight Awards, held March 17 in San Jose, at the annual Game Developers Conference. The “Best Overall” division was one of the many People’s Choice categories that were voted on by visitors to www.happypuppy.com in the several days preceding the event. "It’s important to recognize the sophistication of the people out there who are actually buying and playing the games," said Elisabeth Crocker, Publisher of Happy Puppy. "The People’s Choice Awards gives gamers an opportunity to express a more refined appreciation than the best-seller lists can depict." Gamers had the opportunity to visit the Happy Puppy Web site and fill out an online ballot that included all of the Spotlight Awards categories, plus the “Best Overall” category. The ballot was closed after 5,000 votes were cast and the results were tallied. One of the 5,000 voters will be chosen at random to receive one copy of each winning game from each category.
