In early 2005 and early 2006 RPGFan conducted two series of exclusive interviews with Japanese game developers. Since we figured some of you might miss this annual dose of exclusive interviews, we decided to go for a third round just in time for the holiday season. We hope this year's interview series will again offer a little bit for every RPGFan. For fans of strategy RPGs we have an interview with Masami Watanabe, president of Summon Night and Black/Matrix developers Flight Plan. Lovers of classic game tunes can look forward to an interview with Yuzo Koshiro, composer of Ys, Ys II and Etrian Odyssey. To those faithful to two dimensions we can offer an interview with Jouji Kamitani of Vanillaware, makers of Atlus' critically acclaimed Odin Sphere and Nippon Ichi Software's Grim Grimoire. To lighten the pain of Suikoden fans desperately waiting for a sixth installment of Konami's classic RPG franchise, we will have an interview with the series' (former) senior producer, Noritada Matsukawa. Finally, fans of Harvest Moon should be looking forward to an interview with series' mastermind and Marvelous Interactive president, Yasuhiro Wada.
All of the interviews were conducted by Chief News Editor Chris Winkler in Japanese and then translated into English. RPGFan would like to thank all participants as well as their public relations managers for sacrificing their precious time and participating in this exclusive interview feature. This feature will contain the comprehensive translations of the following interviews.
