As we do every year, we've worked (argued?) to put together one of our biggest features: RPGFan's Game of the Year Awards. This year, we decided to slim down the awards a bit - from last year's nineteen platform and genre awards down to a svelte nine genre awards. With these changes, discussion was even more heated and it took us longer than expected to get everything together. We are, however, very happy with the way things turned out. Be sure to note that the game that won our overall Game of the Year is ineligible for any of the other awards. So be sure to check out the sitewide awards below as well as the picks of our individual staff members. You might find yourself surprised.

Just a couple of caveats to make note of: Xenoblade Chronicles was not valid for this year's awards due to its late announcement for North America. Chances are you'll see it somewhere up here next year. As well, Star Wars: The Old Republic came along late enough in the year that we weren't able to get sufficient playtime with enough editors. Again, one you'll probably see up here next year.
