A Sega RPG? One that doesn't have the name "Shining" or "Phantasy" in the title? Say it ain't so! Well it's true and it happens to be the clear choice for best strategy RPG game of the year on a major console. From a brilliant story that takes the player through the horrors of the European theater of World War II to the mesmerizing visuals of the "CANVAS" graphic engine, Valkryia Chronicles is a revolutionary strategy RPG that has captured player's imaginations with its innovative nature. Even though the game has not sold particularly well, it has slowly gained a cult status that is not usually seen for a Sega produced game. Perhaps, years from now, we'll look at this game as the one that put strategy RPGs back on the map for the once proud Sega label. Runner-up: Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice
