1) Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2

I know that the series which I loved the most this past decade is pretty glaringly obvious, but the Shin Megami Tensei games are unlike anything else I'd ever played before. The same goes for most of these games – they stood out from either their era or their respective series, even if they weren't always the most popular title in either, such as Final Fantasy X-2. Chrono Cross and Paper Mario each have their own set of quirks. Phantasy Star Online & Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles allowed me to have multiplayer RPG action without having to go to an MMORPG, and Fire Emblem brought one of my favorite series to North American shores back in 2003. And as much as I love Persona 3 & Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2 together are one near-perfect game.
