There's no developer I love more than late 90's/early 00's Square. You can probably tell, since they released many of the games on my list. A few of the later Square Enix entries like Dragon Quest VIII, Final Fantasy XII, Kingdom Hearts II, and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time are still great games, but they aren't the upper echelon like the others on my list. Lately, Square Enix has lost their touch for me, but all I have to do is grab one of those older games to rekindle my love. Bioware is currently my favorite developer, and Mass Effect was the start of that. Props go to Bethesda too, for making my favorite RPG of 2008, the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which almost made this list. Finally, congratulations to Nintendo for getting a game on my list. If this were a 90's list it would be a different story.
