Andrew Barker's Top 10 |
10) Demon's Souls 7) Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 4) Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 3) Paper Mario When the 00s started, I was a mere ten years old. It's funny for me to look back and see how some of these games have influenced what I've liked over the years! Working backwards... I only finished Demon's Souls recently, but the concept and setting of the game had me enraptured. Not to mention the awesome combat. I only played Skies of Arcadia recently too, but it reminded me why RPGs are so great. Riviera was a sleeper hit for me. I'd barely even heard of it when I picked it up, and I absolutely adored its unique style. Persona 3 won me over with its dark themes and terrific story. The World Ends With You has made the best use of the DS touch screen I've seen with a great combat system and an edge-of-your-seat story. Tales of Hearts is my favorite 2D entry in the Tales series, and has the series' best combat as well. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, no matter what some may say, was awesome. The gameplay had considerable depth, and there was a huge amount to do. Paper Mario is probably the game I consistently had the most fun with on this list. You can't help but smile as you play. Tales of Symphonia was the first Tales game I played, and I still think it's the best. The story had its cliché moments, but it was good enough that it didn't matter. Finally, Ever 17 has the greatest story of any video game. Ever. Seriously, go buy it! |
