Pokémon Moon Nuzlocke Challenge: Chapter 13
By Neal Chandran

Bam Bigelow may have been timid when he first joined forces with Lando as a Litten, but he is proving to be a very adaptable team captain. Lando's team has seen its fair share of turnover through a plethora of new recruits and a cavalcade of fallen comrades. Yet through it all, Bam Bigelow has been there from the start. When things looked their darkest, it was Bam Bigelow who lit it up like a firecracker. No matter how deeply hopeless situations seemed, he never looked down and always clawed his way up. This cat will go to hell and back, that's for sure.

Pokemon Moon Nuzlocke Challenge - Morelull

So Bam Bigelow, Lisbeth Sala, AquaSpectrum, Lucy VanPelt, Joey, and Natasha venture into Lush Jungle to find a new friend to travel with, since Lando is now permitted to catch there. A Morelull approaches them and willingly joins. This mild male with Illuminate is named Deadwood, because his PokéDex entry says that Morelulls leech off of trees like parasites.

One Charizard PokéRide later, and Lando is back in Heahea City to meet up with Professor Kukui in the dimensional research lab. Before going in, he sees Lillie trying to command Nebby to use Splash. Lando smirks to himself because his front pokémon right now is Lisbeth Sala, a Magikarp. Of course, Nebby spies Lando and bounces on over to him, so he quickly regains his composure. When Lillie asks about his trials, he answers honestly that it was a tough go. He doesn't go into details about his losses because that would only disquiet Lillie and he's still wrapping his head around all of them.

Anyway, Lando meets Professor Burnet (Professor Kukui's wife) who not only looks like a rockin' surfer chica but is a leading authority on interdimensional wormholes. This appeals to Lando since his moniker is of a man from a galaxy far far away. After he leaves the lab to head toward Diglett Tunnel to pay Kahuna Olivia a visit, he sees what appears to be a crack in the sky. While Lando is contemplating this, that knucklehead Hau comes bounding out yammering about Diglett's Tunnel before running off to eat malasadas. Seriously, man, can't you leave a guy in peace to reflect?

To annoy Lando even more, that darn kid with the Stoutland still won't let Lando through to the Hano Grand Resort so he can earn extra money Pyukumuku chucking.

Pokemon Moon Nuzlocke Challenge - Pyukumuku

Anyway, Lando encounters Kahuna Olivia in Diglett's Tunnel who implores him to meet her at her shop in Konikoni City. Lando makes it through Diglett's Tunnel with no drama, except for a pair of Team Skull thugs with a Salandit and a Fomantis. Fomantis's Razor Leaf takes a lot out of Lucy VanPelt, but she manages to take out Salandit before Lando switches her out for Joey. Oh, and Hau appears out of nowhere for this battle with his Pikachu. Upon exiting the tunnel, Lando finds a police station and encounters a very rude police officer inside who brusquely tells Lando to shove off unless it's an emergency, because he's on his break. Lando thinks to himself, "Yeesh, what a grouch. And people wonder why there's so much anti-cop resentment these days." Then again, Lando is grouchy too because he did not encounter any pokémon in Diglett's Tunnel that he hadn't already caught before.

Hopefully Konikoni City has some wild and wonderful enticements to sweeten Lando's sour mood.
