In a surprising turn of events, Square Enix has released a version of The Last Remnant on mobile devices. Originally released for the Xbox 360 in 2008, ported to PC, and then remastered for the PS4 and Switch, this RPG from the creative team behind SaGa has been around the block a few times. Still, I don't think even the most diehard Last Remnant fans saw this one coming!

The Last Remnant Remastered can now be purchased from the App Store and Google Play Store for $19.99 USD. Read on for a summary from Square Enix.

Created by an all-star team including Akitoshi Kawazu (FINAL FANTASY and SaGa series), Yusuke Naora (Art Director on FINAL FANTASY X, FINAL FANTASY XV) and Hiroshi Takai (Assistant Director on FINAL FANTASY XIV Online: A Realm Reborn), THE LAST REMNANT captured the hearts and minds of gamers with its enthralling story, countless characters and intricate battle system, and now features touch controls designed specifically for mobile devices and tablets. In a world filled with "Remnants" — ancient artifacts that grant mysterious abilities to their wielders — players can now uncover the mysteries of Rush Sykes, at home or on-the-go.
