Pokémon Sword and Shield Launch Sales Have Passed 6 Million Units Worldwide
A lot of people are enjoying Pokémon, and that's grand.
It seems that Pokémon, the seminal monster-catching franchise, has returned to the cultural landscape in a big way. Nintendo of America announced that the recently released Pokémon Sword and Shield have sold upwards of six million units worldwide, two million attributed to the U.S alone, marking it as the highest-grossing launch of a Pokémon title ever.
Pokémon Sword and Shield tell the story of a young Pokemon trainer at the start of their adventure within the vast region of Galar, where Pokémon battles are gigantic, tests of Pokémon prowess are heralded by stadiums filled with enthusiastic fans, and plenty of secrets are raring to be found.
