Fans of the seminal shonen battle anime Dragon Ball Z have a lot to look forward to in the video game space with publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer CyberConnect releasing a new gameplay video for the upcoming action-RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, showcasing flying, battles and collecting galore. Check it out below!

Seen above, the video itself focuses on the beginning strokes of the Majin Buu saga within the Dragon Ball Z canon, highlighting main character Vegeta fighting against Majin Buu for the first time. In the beginning portion of the video, it seems that flying and verticality is a big part of the Dragon Ball: Z Kakarot experience with collectibles scattered around the environment in all directions, presumably used to enhance or improve the character being used. During the two fights shown, it seems that style-based ranking will be used within fights, allowing players to master the combat systems present to gain big rewards, with special moves from the series being used on full display in combo strings and fight-ending finishers.

As it stands, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot looks to be an interesting offering for Dragon Ball Z fans and RPG fans alike. If you're curious about what the visual style for the title will look like, feel free to check out our updated gallery.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will launch worldwide for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 on January 17th, 2020. In Japan, the title will launch on January 16th, a day earlier.
