There were a couple of surprises during Japan's Nintendo Direct from yesterday that were exclusive to them. One of these is the ever-popular Dragon Quest series getting more games on the Switch, specifically I, II and III. These will likely be similiar to the previous PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS ports back in 2017.

Launching on September 27th, this is surely going to be a day to celebrate for Dragon Quest fans as this is also the worldwide release date of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition on Nintendo's home console! Sadly, no Western release has been announced yet, but given the popularity and success of the latest entry in this storied franchise, we're hoping we may be able to deliver some good news.

Updated 9/7/19: Website Nintendeal noticed that Square Enix Asia is bringing all three games out in a single Switch package in 2019, with Traditional Chinese, Korean, and English language support. Hopefully this means we may yet see these games in the West on Switch and PS4 (these versions have been on PS4 in Japan for several years).
